McDonald District Remodel
Masonry by Conrad completed a remodel for this private residence in Santa Rosa’s historic McDonald District on McDonald Street. We absolutely love how this project turned out and consider this one of our favorite projects thus far.
Front Yard
Herringbone brick walkway
For the pathway in the front of the house, the client opted for a herringbone brick pathway for the straight walkway going to the front door. This design worked beautifully with the overall Victorian architecture of the home. Plus, the traditional brick color helped highlight the accent colors seen in the door and decoration over the front-facing window.
Traditional brick wraparound
For the side pathways connecting the front yard to the backyard, we used a traditional straight pattern with a border in the same brick to maintain the look and feel.
Backyard
Tumbled limestone pool wraparound and backyard pathways
Our clients recently installed a brand new in-ground pool and wanted to create a beautiful patio to complement the new addition. We used hand-cut, tumbled limestone in a gorgeous, neutral hue to match the exterior paint.
Pool pump cover wall
Lastly, the client requested a feature to disguise the above-ground pool pump. We used concrete masonry units to build a short wall. We finished the form with the leftover limestone in order to tie the structure into the new patio.
